What We Do

Construction Solutions

Our attention to detail, years of experience and never ending desire to construct the finest projects makes it easy for us to meet your expectations and needs. We bring our best to each project.

We are committed to selecting only the most experienced craftsman and subcontractors to ensure you’re satisfied throughout the entire construction process.

General Contracting

As General Contractor, Nexus Crown Construction coordinates all phases of construction, beginning with analysis of building design and continuing through project completion. We take the responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the construction site, and management of vendors and trades. In addition, we keep things focused and clear throughout the course of the project.

We have the ability to provide all of the material, labor, equipment, (engineering vehicles and tools) and services necessary for the construction of the project. In order to get these tasks done, we may hire more specialized subcontractors to perform portions of the construction work.

Construction Management

As Construction Managers, we are responsible for the coordination of the entire project from conception to completion. Our experienced team puts a strong emphasis on integrating the design and construction phases of each project, which allows for informed decisions to be made early and for immediate communication between all parties involved.

Nexus Crown performs a variety of services as construction manager, and acts as a coordinator to ensure that required activities are carried out as scheduled. For each project, we take a “team” approach with the owner and the architect to encourage constant communication and collaboration between everyone involved. We are consistently able to deliver every project within the desired timeframe, on budget and providing high-quality service.

Design-Build

Design-build is a method of project delivery in which one entity - the design-build team - works under a single contract with the project owner to provide design and construction services. One entity, one contract, one unified flow of work from initial concept through completion.

We are brought in early on in the development phase to assist with determination of the project parameters and selection of the design team. As the project design is developed, we work in tandem with the Owner and Design Team by providing realistic cost estimates and schedules for the construction process. We guide the team through the design process and once the final designs are determined, we perform as General Contractors to complete the work. The Design Build Project Delivery System gives the Owner a single source to design and construct the project.

Pre-Engineered Buildings

With over 25 years experience in the construction industry, Nexus Crown has built over 600,000 square feet of pre-engineered steel buildings. Nexus Crown has compiled a skilled staff of professionals with construction and engineering experience to provide the most complex pre-engineered Buildings.

Today we are able to take advantage of the basic concepts of pre-engineered steel buildings (speed and low cost) and use them to build structures that meet and exceed industry standards. Our design experts can help you utilize these basic concepts and incorporate them into your project.

Interior Build-Out

This usually refers to improvements to leased space to make it usable for a particular tenant's needs. It may include reconfiguring or custom designing and modifying part of a larger commercial structure. Nexus Crown specializes in Interior Build-out. We have experience in all types of interior construction - retail, medical, office, restaurant and more.

Our construction experience allows us to navigate the ins and outs of large-scale electrical, drywall and plumbing systems as well as the large number of specialized components that are involved in commercial build outs and renovations. Custom build outs involve everything from repainting to full-blown renovation. For example, Dry wall, Doors, ceilings, painting, walls, wood or metal framing, etc.

Recent project- Days Inn

In fall 2017, it looked like the former Colonial Inn on the edge of uptown Saint John was fated for the wrecking ball.

After years of declining fortunes, the 1970s-era motel closed in August. Its boarded-up windows were covered in graffiti. Weeds grew through the cracks in the pavement.

Crews put the finishing touches on the new Days Inn sign at 175 City Rd. A year ago, the Saint John hotel was vacant and boarded-up and seemed destined for demolition.

After a year of demolition and renovations — the new Days Inn at 175 City Rd. welcomed its first visitors. During the construction phase we had at least 40 guys working every day here.

"Days, nights, weekends, whatever we asked them, they worked. And here we are."

Before and after: 2017 versus 2018 at 175 City Rd.

In addition to cleaning out broken furniture, old carpeting, syringes and other messes left behind by former occupants, "we basically had to redo everything that was over here." That included the unanticipated challenge of rewiring and re-plumbing the entire building, as well as installing fireproofing measures and re-framing several rooms.

Before and after: the palm-tree mural and 1970s brickwork in the lobby of the former Colonial Inn, left, bears little resemblance to the bright, newly renovated entryway when the hotel reopened this month.

It was the largest project we've ever worked on. We got it done: It was done in less than a year — we were expecting to have it done in a year and a half. That's the biggest achievement for our company. We thank the city, fire officials and the "people of Saint John who made this project happen."

Negotiations were completed two months ago to re-open the hotel at 175 City Road as a Days Inn.

Le Westin Montréal

The Challenge

Situated in the heart of the Montréal, Nexus Crown designed and built the original structure for Westin Hotels and Resorts. When it came time to update the hotel with Westin's new Cynergy decor package, they called on Nexus Crown, who knows both the hotel and Westin brand inside out.

Result

Nexus Crown meticulously planned this four-month top-to-bottom renovation strategically, ensuring minimal disruption to guests, employees and hotel revenue. The $2 million renovation included implementing the Westin Next Gen CYnergy package in every guestroom and corridors. The full room renovation included new carpet and flooring, restructured entryways, updated lighting and new lounge-around couches. It also included soft, tone-on-tone décor, sculptural design and new hubs for personal technology. Nexus Crown created a new lobby experience that is completely custom to the Little Rock destination. To make room for a larger, more open-concept lounge experience that includes the Westin Bistro concept, we removed the existing boardroom. To meet business traveler needs, we designed and built a new boardroom complete with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment in another area of the hotel.
